Intel’s latest processor can’t beat the i9 in performance! But it has another advantage

Ana sayfa / News

Intel is trying to balance performance and energy efficiency with its next-generation Core Ultra 9 285K processor. However, according to leaked information, this model is far from delivering the expected performance in games compared to the i9-14900K. In gaming tests, while it offers up to 15% faster performance in some games, it lags behind by as much as 21%, especially in demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077. Here are the details…

Despite all the performance, Intel’s main goal with this model is to reduce power consumption. Utilizing TSMC’s 3 nm manufacturing process, the Core Ultra 9 285K consumes up to 80 W less power than previous generations. In other words, it provides energy efficiency in long-term use and minimizes cooling problems in high-performance PCs.

While Intel’s next-generation processors are gaining traction in terms of energy efficiency and power consumption, they struggle to show the same success in gaming performance. On the productivity side, Intel is still the leader in areas such as productivity and content creation.

In tests, the Core Ultra 9 285K, which performs 30% faster than the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, is quite powerful in non-gaming scenarios. However, when it comes to gaming performance, it’s neck and neck with AMD’s strongest competitor, the Ryzen 9 9950X, with only a 0.26% advantage.

In short, while the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K makes significant improvements in energy efficiency, it may not make gamers happy in terms of gaming performance. Intel needs to improve this balance in future models. Because today’s users demand not only energy efficiency but also high performance.
